Can AI Rewrite the Bible? Why Every Christian Needs to Learn AI Before False Teachers Do

The Question That Keeps Me Up at Night

Can AI distort the truth of the Bible?

The answer is yes. And it’s already happening.

AI does make mistakes. It can misinterpret a verse, twist context, and present you with a distorted version of Scripture that sounds biblical but isn’t. And here’s what terrifies me: most believers won’t even know the difference.

This isn’t theoretical. This isn’t someday. This is now.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

Jesus warned us in Matthew 24:11: “Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.”

For centuries, false teachers needed platforms—pulpits, publishers, broadcasting networks. Now? They need a laptop and an AI prompt. In seconds, anyone can generate “Bible content” that looks polished, sounds authoritative, and spreads like wildfire across social media.

The barrier to creating false teaching has never been lower.
The speed of deception has never been faster.
And the audience has never been larger.

AI can produce devotionals, Bible studies, sermon outlines, and “Christian content” on demand. But without discernment, without training, without knowledge of how AI works—how will you know if what you’re reading is truth or a twisted counterfeit?

The Berean Standard

In Acts 17:11, we’re told the Bereans “received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

Think about that. They didn’t even take the Apostle Paul’s word at face value without testing it against Scripture. They were diligent. They were discerning. They were doers of the Word, not just hearers (James 1:22).

If the Bereans tested Paul, how much more should we test AI-generated content?

We are called to “test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). That includes AI.

The Problem: We’re Consumers, Not Controllers

Here’s the hard truth: Most Christians are consumers of AI, not users of AI.

They read AI-generated devotionals without asking who trained the model.
They share AI Bible videos without verifying the theology.
They trust polished content because it looks professional—but they have no idea how it was created or what biases are baked into the algorithm.

We’ve handed over our discernment to machines we don’t understand.

And that’s dangerous.

When you don’t know how AI works, you can’t recognize its flaws. You can’t spot when a verse is taken out of context. You can’t discern when theology has been subtly twisted to fit a secular worldview.

You become vulnerable. And so does everyone you share that content with.

The Warning Jesus Gave Us

Jesus told us false teachers would come. He warned us to be vigilant. He called us to discernment.

Now, AI has given false teaching a megaphone—and it’s louder than ever.

But here’s the truth that fuels my heart and this ministry: If you know how to use AI, you can recognize its products. If you understand how it works, you can test its output. You can be a Berean in the digital age.

This Is Why Bible Morning Exists

My heart and energy are poured into training and teaching fellow believers on AI—not because I’m a tech enthusiast, but because I’m a servant of Jesus Christ who sees the urgency of this moment.

We cannot afford to sit back and let AI shape the theology of the next generation unchallenged.
We cannot be passive consumers while false teaching spreads at the speed of a click.
We must rise up, learn, and equip ourselves to “rightly divide the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

What You Need to Know

The danger is real. But so is the opportunity.

In the next blog post, ‘From Fear to Faith: Your First Steps with AI as a Christian,’ I’m going to show you the practical path forward—how to move from fear and avoidance to confident, biblical use of this technology. Because the answer to deception isn’t ignorance. It’s equipped discernment.

Because the truth is this: AI is a tool. And like any tool, it can be used for great good or great harm.

The question isn’t whether AI will influence the Church.
The question is: Will we be equipped to guide it toward truth?

Your Next Step

Don’t wait until you’ve been deceived to start learning.
Don’t wait until your church, your family, or your friends have been led astray by polished lies.

Start now. Equip yourself. Become a discerning believer in the digital age.

Join us at Bible Morning as we train believers to navigate AI with wisdom, discernment, and biblical integrity. Because this isn’t just about technology—it’s about protecting the Gospel.

Scripture to Meditate On:

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
— 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
