Redeeming the Scroll

A Daily Devotional on Digital Wisdom

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” — Ephesians 5:15-16 (NIV)

Reflection

Our days are filled with screens, scrolls, and endless notifications. We carry in our hands a tool that can connect us to truth—or distract us into oblivion. The average person spends hours each day online, yet how many minutes do we spend listening to the voice of God?

Paul’s words remind us: wisdom is intentional. Digital life can either make us careless wanderers or purposeful disciples. Every scroll is an opportunity—either wasted in comparison, outrage, and noise, or redeemed for encouragement, prayer, and kingdom growth.

Wisdom in the digital age means pausing before posting, seeking Scripture before scrolling, and letting God’s Spirit guide our clicks as much as our conversations. The days are full of distractions, but Christ calls us to redeem them.

Take It With You

Begin your day with His Word before you unlock your phone.

Ask yourself: Is what I’m about to watch, post, or share drawing me closer to Christ—or pulling me away?

Remember: Every digital choice is a seed. Sow wisely.

Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, help me to be intentional with the time and attention You’ve given me. When I reach for my phone, remind me to reach for You first. Guide my digital choices so that they reflect Your wisdom and bring glory to Your name. May every scroll, every click, and every post be an opportunity to grow closer to You and serve others well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
